A little introduction...

Hey blogger world (or more than likely, close friends and family)!

I am on a mission...  I have decided to earn my keep around here and open up my own Etsy shop.  If you are unfamiliar with Etsy you really should go check it out!  Basically, it is an online buying/selling site.  Sellers share their handmade, vintage or up-cycled merchandise with anyone who comes their "store".  And buyers can get themselves lost in the millions of super cool, unique items to browse through.  So.... my goal is to do a little less buying and a little more (or maybe a whole lot more) selling. :)

Just in case someone besides my mom and my best friend pop on over here I though I would share a little bit about myself.  My name is Jen and right now I am 35 years old.  I have been married to my husband Chris for almost 15 years and we have six amazing and beautiful children.  I am originally from California, but I moved out to the mid-west when I got married and now our family lives in a tiny little town in Indiana - and we couldn't be happier!  So Chris is a teacher at an elementary school and I am a stay-at-home mom.  And did I mention we have six kids??  Somehow we make it work and we make it work well.

Now that all of the kids are in school (two in 1st, one in 2nd, one in 3rd, one in 4th and a 7th grader) I am hoping that I can start putting some of my skills to use (not just around our house) AND be able to be involved in our children's school lives a little bit too.  I feel like an online shop could be the perfect way for me to be able to do that!

My goal with this blog is to provide more personalized information about the items I will be selling in my Etsy shop.  Before and after pictures - maybe some "during the process" shots.  And also any thoughts or ideas I have had about a particular item.  I will also be able to be much more informal as far as how I describe the items, which will be right up my alley.  With each post of a new item I will also have the link to take you directly to my Etsy shop.  That will make it easier for you if you, you know... wanna purchase anything or send the link to someone who might REALLY NEED that particular piece. ;)

I hope you enjoy it.  I hope at some point you find something you can't live without.  And I hope that you pass the word along!!
