And that lesson is: You shouldn't rely on other people to do for you what you are perfectly capable of doing yourself!
For instance....
If you are going to ship a large lamp all the way to California - don't have the UPS store package it for you!
H-O-L-Y C-O-W!!! Talk about dazed and confused. I walked out of that place so sure I had just run my business into the ground. :)
Luckily, I ran into my friend Kyle from over at Semi-Sophisticated (see how that's highlighted up above? You should click on it!) and he gave me some very good pointers on shipping pros and cons. The most important being to take the extra time and effort to package your own merchandise.
Sooooo....
This is where you come in! I am looking for large boxes that are still in decent shape that will accommodate some of my larger lamps. If you know of a good resource for this please let me know. Or if you are local and just have some laying around please message me and I would be glad to come pick them up!

ReplyDeleteWe can be pretty reliable source for you. When we buy diapers for Malachi we always buy them in a box, when we can find them we buy the bigger boxes. I'll start saving them for you! If we head up to Upland any time soon I'll let you know and we can bring them. Feel free to stop by any time and get them! If Chris' mom and/or Dad are coming up let me know and they could stop by and get them too!

ReplyDeleteTry Walmart, Target, etc. Most of them will give you boxes if you ask. They just end up crushing them and recylcing anyways.
